If you need to place your Golden Retriever in a new home, please complete our On line Surrender Application, . We also have a Printable Surrender Application that can be filled out manually and mailed to our Mail Box as shown in Contact Us. A volunteer will arrange to meet with you and evaluate your dog. We require owners to inform us of any health and behavioral concerns with the dog and to sign a surrender contract giving up all rights to the dog. Both spouses or other adults responsible for the dog's care must agree to the surrender. If you do not hear from us after 7 days, you may leave a voice message on our Hot Line at 650-615-6810 or call our Cell 650-665-0964.For questions, please contact us at email@example.com
We request a small donation to cover expenses associated with placing your dog, but no adoptable Golden will be refused if you cannot make a donation. See our Donations page for the current recommended amount. If your dog is deemed adoptable, we will place it in temporary foster care until we can find a new owner. We typically do not tell the surrendering party who adopted the dog. Please understand that although NGRR tries it's best to find the right match of the dog's temperment to the right new home, that NGRR cannot accept every dog offerred to us:
1. We cannot accept aggressive dogs, especialy those who bite.
2. We cannot accept very sick or injured dogs with bleak prospects of recovery.
3. We only accept Golden Retrievers.
If the NGRR member who visits you has a concern about the dog's behavior or physical or medical condition, we may ask you to arrange (at your expense) for one of our recommended behaviorist or vets to examine the dog before we accept it.
